Good morning,
It’s Tuesday, 7th of July.

Here’s what’s happening in the world of Auspol:

  • The double standards of Albo’s “shag” remarks

  • Jacinta Allan referred to corruption watchdog

  • Can Albo grow a pair and be tough on China?

The double standards of Albo’s “shag” remarks

Labor Minister Tanya Pilbersek was quick on live TV defending Albo.

Asked if he should apologise, Pilbersek pointed to the government’s record on ‘gender equality’ and then suggested Albo was just showing his admiration for the pop star.

Jacinta Allan was the same, saying it was a “lighthearted forum.” Just recently, the Victorian premier was complaining about being called a witch.

So the same politicians who preach about misogyny now defend someone of their own because they are a Labor PM.

It shows the selective outrage of Labor. They can do no wrong.

Jacinta Allan referred to corruption watchdog

“For the premier to claim to apologise - crocodile tears, it’s all fake.” This is what the Shadow attorney-general James Newsbury said as the premier was referred to Victoria’s anti-corruption watchdog.

There is still the question of a royal commission, which even Labor MPs are calling for. Allan remains vehemently against it.

After denying that there was any corruption at all, the premier’s sorry is a ridiculous response that any Victorian can see through.

She’s only sorry that it’s being exposed and that it’s hurting her re-election chances now.

Can Albo grow a pair and be tough on China?

Just as Albo was signing a defence deal with Fiji, China launched a nuclear-capable missile.

It’s a clear act of fury and intimidation as Australia cosies up to our Pacific neighbours that requires a tough response from the PM.

Australia was given almost no advanced warning before the missile was launched in our backyard.

However, without the confidence of a strong country, backed by the hard power of a strong economy and military, Albo is more likely to submit to and appease China as Labor always have.
