The details: GDP growth per person this decade is the worst it’s been since the 1910s, while the fall in Australia’s real wages is one of the largest in the OECD.
The response: Former RBA governor Phillip Lowe has been critical of the government and says this is the “fundamental economic problem the country faces.”
Labor to miss housing target
An audit of the $10 billion scheme to build more homes has found Labor will likely miss its target.
Treasury has been found to be “largely ineffective” in creating the scheme
There are warnings of high costs for taxpayers with the scheme set to cost taxpayers into the 2030s
Despite this, Housing Minister Clare O’Neil claims the “program is being delivered”
More Aussies choose affordable energy over net zero
A new survey by Affordable Energy Australia finds:
More than half of Australians are unwilling to pay extra to fund net zero
42% are skeptical of the CSIRO’s estimates of the cost of net zero

The details: Taxpayers will pay $4.2 million for luxury accomodation in Fiji ahead of a COP climate meeting.
The response: Shadow energy minister Dan Tehan says that when Aussies are in “energy hardship and you’re struggling to be able to pay your power bill, I don’t think you’re going to see this as value for money.”
Labor removes vow to disarm Hamas
The details: A new draft of Labor’s policy platform no longer commits to disarming the Hamas terrorist organisation.
The statement that “Hamas must disarm and can have no role in the State of Palestine” appears to have been removed.
