Labor launches scare campaign over super

Amid growing debate over superannuation, Labor claims the opposition wants to “decimate universal super.”
The truth: The opposition proposed allowing Australians to use their super to buy a house. Labor’s scare campaign ignores that super belongs to Australians and is not a “national asset” as Albo has claimed.
Majority of Aussies rank Labor poor on immigration
According to a new poll, 54% of respondents say Labor has handled immigration in an “unplanned and unmanaged way.” Other findings include:
57% say that immigration is too high with only 28% saying it was at the right level
Labor primary support remains stable at 28% despite recent criticism of Albo’s melon remarks to the Japanese PM
Coalition primary support is at 23%, One Nation at 26%
Former Labor adviser calls for population cap
Former Labor adviser Henry Sherrell has called for a 1% cap on population growth caused by migration. He says that Australia’s population growth has been higher than countries like the US and Canada.
NAB: rents to soar by as much as 30%
Major Bank NAB has warned rents could soar by 30% as a result of Labor’s new tax changes.
Albanese has fiercely rejected the predictions, pointing to Treasury modelling that rents would only rise $2 a week
On live TV, Treasurer Jim Chalmers claimed the report was “not a forecast” and that it “leaves out a range of important considerations.”
