Labor’s secret proposal for socialist economy
At last week’s Labor national conference, Labor debated a radical plan to for worker committees to run the economy. The proposal declared:
“We must replace antiquated systems by established workshop committees run by and for workers”
“Labor must provide a legislative right for workers to fully participate in, and ultimately control key workplace decisions”
Vic Labor in crisis
Today, deputy premier Ben Carroll will challenge Jacinta Allan for the top job.
A recent poll shows 71% of Victorians are dissatisfied with Jacinta Allan
Only a few weeks ago, Ben Carroll promised the premier he would not roll her
Now, Carroll said “it is clear that the Premier has lost the majority of our Caucus” and says the decision to run against her is “not easy”
Poll predicts hung parliament
The most recent Demos poll predicts shocking results:
There would be a hung parliament with Labor at 68 seats unable to form government
The traditional Liberal/Nationals coalition would only win 13 seats, while One Nation could win as many as 60
The Coalition and One Nation would still be unable to form government, remaining below the required 76 seats
Albo’s dinner scandal continues
Labor minister Tanya PIlbersek has defended Albo on live TV after he had dinner with a Chinese billionaire who pledged to donate to the party, and whose father is being invested by the ATO.
Asked if Labor should give the donations back up to a potentially $1 million, Tanya Pilbersek said “it’s a matter for the party”
She also pointed again to Gina Rinehart and Pauline Hanson’s meetings
In response, Senator Maria Kovacic said Albanese was “evasive” when being interviewed by the ABC. “He didn’t answer the questions”
Albo continues with his line that “we declare all of our donations in accordance with the rules”
