Australia’s fertility rate is now at 1.48 births per woman, well below the replacement level of 2.1 births and at a record low.
Compared to other countries, Australia is behind the US at 1.63 births per woman and the UK at 1.55 births

Doctors blast Labor’s urgent care clinics
Labor has spent over $2 billion on urgent care clinics which Albo frequently promotes and campaigns on.
Despite this, doctors reported to The Age that “the clinics do nothing to solve our problems” and have not reduced waiting times at emergency departments
The government’s own findings show the urgent care clinics have no effect on waiting times
Ben Carroll’s royal commission pledge
The new Vic premier claims he wants a royal commission into the construction industry before the next election.
This is a significant departure from Jacinta Allan, who could also be investigated.
New poll: One Nation ahead again
The latest poll shows One Nation ahead of Labor.
One Nation’s primary vote support is up 2 points at 31% while Labor is down 1 point at 29
The Coalition has risen by 4 points reaching 22%
The combined primary vote of the conservative parties is 53%, well above Labor
