Albo admits podcast was an “error”

On the ABC, Albanese says that going on the podcast was an error. Asked what he has learned, he said “I need to do better everyday.”
At the same time, Albanese commented on the ongoing Sydney Swans scandal, telling them to do better despite his own podcast scandal
In response, Senator Jane Hume said that he’s only “halfway there.” She continued, criticising Albanese for not apologising and “sounding like a grubby, leery old man.”
Labor minister makes shock admission on debt
Labor minister Mark Butler concedes that Australia’s $1 trillion of debt is a “big headline number. There’s no question about it.”
He continued, claiming that “we’ve been paying down debt” despite record government spending.
Unemployment jumps to highest level since COVID
Unemployment has jumped to 4.5%, indicating a slowing economy amid high interest rates and Labor’s poorly received budget
In response, the Australian Council of Social Services is calling for support payments to increase to at least $600 a week, which is an almost 50% increase
Vic premier calls a royal commission
New Victorian premier Ben Carroll claims “everyone and anyone can be called” to the royal commission, which includes Dan Andrews and Jacinta Allan
He also admitted that “there was grift, there was thuggery, there was misogny, there was violence on taxpayer-funded construction sites.”
